Hiking for Chimps
The Chimp Challenge 2021 is a hiking challenge that serves to benefit chimpanzee projects around the world while encouraging everyone to get outside and explore! The registration fee will be used to cover the price of participant water bottle, prizes, and the remaining amount will go to various chimpanzee sanctuaries and projects. Chimpanzee sanctuaries and projects that will benefit can be found on the "About the Chimps" page, and will be updated regularly if new projects are added.
After registering (on the "Register" page), download the Excel or PDF log sheet that correlates with the challenge you are participating in to keep track of your miles hiked. The participation period begins January 1st, and goes until December 20th. Registration is open until December 1st, and you can register at any time during 2021, up until that date, to participate. After a hike, log your information in the Log Sheet, which will need to be received by December 21st to be considered for prizes.
Anyone can participate in The Chimp Challenge 2021 from anywhere in the world.
Check out the challenges below to find the one that works best for you! Below the challenge section are the Log Sheets for each challenge.
The prize amounts will be updated weekly to reflect the amount for that category. A percent of each registration fee will go to prizes, so if more people participate, the prizes will go up! The prizes will be updated on the Prizes section of this website each Sunday after registrations come in.
The prizes will be awarded to participants in each category based on completion and times of completion. Please do not register for more than one category to ensure fairness in prize distribution across ability levels.
If you have any questions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Kid's Challenge is suitable for any child between 4-17! Prizes for the Kid's Challenge will be awarded based on age group (4-8, 9-12, 13-17) and will be based on miles hiked.
